About

Vinyl Garden is a blog started by two creative Canberra girls living in Sydney on the constant mission of growing their music library with unique, diverse Australian music. The sheer size of the Internet can seem daunting at times, and our aim is to filter through to offer a collection of foot tap-able, head bang-able, sing along-able tunes to listen and trawl through, as well as promoting some awesome local bands and venues in the process!

About Sophie:

Sophie Profile Pic

Sophie has been suffering with her addiction to music since the age of seven when she proudly bought her first single, Shaggy’s “It Wasn’t Me”. Since this time her music taste and interest has evolved and grown, and today her music collection is slightly less embarrassing and at times a little bit hipster. You can catch Sophie front row centre at most live gigs around Sydney, naming The Beresford and Good God Small Club as some of her favourite venues. Her top local acts include: Sons of the East, Andy Bull, Kimbra, The Paper Kites, RY X, Vancouver Sleep Clinic and Louis London.

About Erin:

Erin Profile Pic

A passionate lover of all music from electronic to classic rock, Erin is no stranger to the Australian music scene on stage and off, once fronting a Cat Empire cover band and jazz ensemble. She knows that maintaining indie cred is no small feat and loves discovering new bands at gigs. You might catch her nursing a cider at Newtown Social, dancing up a storm at Oxford Art or having a chilled one at the Little Guy. She counts amongst her favourite local artists: Pigeon, Louis London, Josh Pyke, Flume, Chet Faker, Ball Park Music, and Wave Racer.
